Summer Solstice 2024

July 21, 2024 Lauren Glass

“Lord of my life, how can I do the duty of this day yet seek detachment? Meet every need yet free myself from ties and bonds. God said: “the ✨Sun✨ draws near and vivifies the earth. Naught can it take from out the Earth. Live likewise. Give and ask naught!”- DINA page 392

✨Summer Solstice✨ is Thursday, June 20th. The Sun enters Cancer and summer begins. Summer Solstice is the longest day of light. The Sun entering into Cancer is a great festival ~ it is the high point of our solar year. There is a radiation of released light and everything is joyful & uplifted celebrating the incoming Solstice.

Artwork: I ❤️ this painting, ✨The Sun✨ by Edvard Munch, a renown Norwegian painter. An achievement in modern mural painting, it occupied the large front space of Oslo University’s assembly hall. “Illuminated by the sun rays are the water of the ocean, the bare rocks of the Northern landscape, and a slim verdant green that separated land and sea. A clean, straight horizon line divides the waters from the sky. The great sun is all-pervasive, shining from the heavens upon land and sea, its rays reaching out to all eternity. Inhuman itself, it is the source of all life.”- www.edvardmunch.org
